Understanding the Multigenerational Workplace

Today’s workplace presents many challenges that are based on meeting goals, business objectives, and project deadlines. Threaded throughout the normal business activities are generational dynamics that present additional challenges and conflicts.  Generational differences can affect everything, including recruiting, building teams, dealing with change, motivating, managing, maintaining and increasing productivity and how you interact with your customers. In order to understand this eclectic environment, it is necessary to understand what generations are present in today’s workplace. The four generations that are present in today’s workforce are the following: Traditionalist/Matures, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Generation Y/Millennials.

Workplace Harassment and Bullying

Workplace harassment is illegal and destructive to any organization. It is important to treat everyone in the workplace with respect and dignity. Workplace harassment must be identified, discouraged, and prevented in order to keep a hostile work environment from developing. Left unchecked, harassment can escalate into violence. Workplace harassment training is essential to the welfare of all businesses and their employees.

This workshop will help participants to understand the different types of harassment that occurs in the workplace, the laws that protect employees, the policies that need to be in place for companies and supervisors will learn skills and techniques to address and stop workplace harassment.

Hire Hard, Manage Easy – Creating an Effective Selection Process

Many hiring managers don’t have a systematic approach to the hiring process; therefore, they are more likely to make a bad hiring decision.  They haven’t prepared, there is no clear process, they don’t have well thought out questions to ask, they don’t have follow-up questions, and they haven’t reviewed the resume prior to the interview.  Additionally, managers don’t use behavioral interviewing techniques to identify behavioral tendencies.  Having a focused selection system will enable your company to make the right hiring decision when looking for candidates to fill positions. The selection of a new team member is a major investment for our organization. Developing and maintaining a selection system that yields solid returns; such productive and satisfied employees is critical to reducing turnover.
